The digital crown is the perfect user interface for controlling temperature. It is simple and universally understood. Turn the crown up to increase the room temperature (setpoint), turning it down to reduce the room temperature. If the new setting will cause the room to heat then the numbers will turn orange, if the new setting is going to trigger the cooling, the numbers turn blue. A further confirmation is then given to the user by the digital crown softly glowing either red or blue for a short period of time. The screen then displays an orange flame or blue snowflake symbol as confirmation on the main/home screen.
Additional functions available to the user are accessed by pressing the digital crown. Each press cycles from one feature to the other. If features are disabled in the settings they do not appear to the user, removing confusion. As default press once and the user can control the fan speed, OFF, AUTO, 1,2,34,5,6 (installer has the ability to change these values). Press again and the user has control over the temperature of zone 2 for both heating and cooling if available. Press again, and the user can control the towel radiator, OFF, AUTO or set a time in 5min increments, by simply turning up the dial.
The Ursium is a dual zone thermostat allowing two rooms to be monitored and control heating and cooling completely independently. The second room is achieved by using a number of remote probes wired into the rear of the device. If the thermostat is installed in a single zone environment, then zone 2 can be disabled. When disabling zone 2 any symbols or pages are removed from the user’s interface.
The Ursium by default is a Heating and Cooling thermostat controller. However, it can be configured as a ’Cooling only’ or ’Heating only’ device (per Zone). When these changes are set, any symbols or pages relevant to those features are removed from the user’s interface, eliminating confusion.
As default, the thermostat has a built-in humidity sensor for zone 1. This humidity sensor can be enabled or disabled from the user display. Access to the Humidity readings is always available from the Modbus control interface.
Ursium can accept up to five remote probes wired into the back of the thermostat. These sensors should be 10k3 standard. The five probes are allocated as three to Zone 1 and two to Zone 2.
Zone 1 can use these additional sensors for room averaging or the internal sensor can be disabled allowing for a more flexible placement of the thermostat due to accessibility or aesthetics.
Each zone can use an individual probe for sensing floor temperatures.
The temperature readings available from the sensor probes can always be accessed over the Modbus communications allowing for the Ursium thermostat to be used as a mini temperature hub for rooms or areas that don’t have thermostats or sensing services such as temperature of AV equipment, flow and return pipes, Manifolds, etc...
