Direct Air Con Controls

The ability not only to control heating but directly control an Air conditioing unit

Introducing the ACM version

A great new feature has been added to the Zentium thermostat, that help integrate with indoor air conditioing units.

Many VRF / VRV have built in return air temperature sensors that are used internally for that VRF to regulate its own operation. The setpoint of the VRF can be changed by the user but typically the temperature reading is hidden away with the BMS controls.

Adding a room thermostat can create a situation where there are now two (and highly likely) different temperature readings of an area. This generates a BMS or user feedback problem where the VRF may activate even though from a users perspective the room is satisfied (or vice versa).

User confusion only then leads to frustration and unnecessary engineer call outs.

To solve this problem the Zentium is featured with a virtual sensor for either of it's two zones temperatures. By enabling this features data can then be fed to the thermostat from the BMS via its communications interface. The thermostat then reacts exactly the same way as you would expect but now displaying a room temperature as per the virtual sensor and in perfect sync with the VRF air-conditioning unit.

This virtual temperature could also be used for many other scenarios where the BMS system is used to calculate or have a specific room temperature displayed to the user.

The virtual temperature mode is just another reason why choosing the flexibility of the Zentium thermostat is the right choice.
